The Power of Mindfulness
May 23rd, 2008Link: http://www.getthedream.com
Mindfulness is an increasingly popular concept that is taking hold in the self-help and medical worlds. There is a great deal of interest in mindfulness practice among western clinical psychologists and psychiatrists as a natural way to reduce stress, anxiety, and chronic pain.
Mindfulness is awareness of one’s current thoughts, actions or motivations. It has roots in Buddhism, but the modern interpretation of mindfulness is a secular one that is not connected to any religion.
Mindfulness is the ability to intentionally create a “present moment” awareness without applying our personal filters or lenses of judgment to a situation.
We may do damage to our personal or business relationships when we’re quick to interpret events and interaction with others with an emotional response. The goal of mindfulness is to be open and non-judgmental about what’s happening externally as well as any emotions that are arising internally at the present moment.
When we move our awareness from thoughts about the future or past into the present moment, we are practicing mindfulness. The more frequently we can live in the present, the more peace we find in our inner and outer realities.
Our internal peace comes from the ability to notice and then quiet the self-talk or chatter going on in our mind. Once we become aware and tune into our mind chatter, it can be shocking to realize how much judgment and commentary is being produced there!
By the simple act of noticing the mind chatter, we have the ability to analyze it or stop it. We can observe the thoughts without judging them or ourselves for having them.
Thoughts are just that. They may not have any connection to reality or intent. If we understand that thoughts can be released, we can let go of the ones that are not positive, productive, or truthful.
Problems arise in our inner and outer realities when we get trapped by negative or untruthful self-talk. This happens when we react to our mind’s commentary without analyzing it first. Many of our thoughts may not be truthful or helpful to us in any way.
To be present in the moment, we should also be a witness to the positive and beautiful thoughts and sensations we experience. We can bring awareness to our breath, to the cool wind, to the warm water we bathe in, or to the complex taste of the food we eat.
When we approach our thoughts and emotions with curiosity as they come and go, we take control of our mind, instead of letting our mind take control of us.
Brain Wave Entrainment - A Real Substitute For Meditation
May 20th, 2008Link: http://www.getthedream.com/brainwave-entrainment.php
Have you ever had trouble meditating? Discover a simple way to manifest positive results in your life without having to be a spiritual guru!
I’ve come to understand the amazing benefits of meditation.
I’ve seen TV news specials about schools that have incorporated meditation into their curriculum, causing student’s grades and test scores to sky-rocket. I’ve also read about major corporations that believe in meditation. They feel it’s so important for good performance that they hire meditation consultants to teach their workers and even pay employees for time just to meditate.
I’ve asked my mentors what has really helped them move to the level of success they enjoy today. And you guessed it, meditation was their answer. Phil Helmuth, one of the world’s best poker players even attributes his success to the practice of meditation!
Because I know its value, I want to be able to practice meditation successfully too. I have tried for years, but to this day I am still NOT able to meditate.
I spent some time trying to troubleshoot my meditation problem. Does it go back to my formative years? Did I spend too much time playing video games as a kid?
I’m not sure of the cause, but the reality is that my mind is just too active to meditate. You see, my brain works like CNN. I have one reporter delivering the news and an additional ticker tape of information flowing across the bottom of the screen.
But despite my meditation failures, I am very fortunate to have been able to achieve incredible results in my life using an alternate technique.
This technique was actually a tremendous gift that I received from a close friend of mine. This is a friend who also had limited success meditating. He introduced me to an effective technology called brain wave entrainment.
Brain wave entrainment allows one to manipulate the brain state with very little practice and a rapid learning curve. It’s generally accomplished with audio soundtracks. The audio has been modified to manipulate the brain into the desired state. So if you can listen to audio, you can change your state of mind. And if you are hearing impaired this effect can also be created with specially designed strobe effects.
So why am I telling you about changing the brain state in an article on meditation? Because whether you realize it or not, the holy grail of meditation is the theta brain wave state!
When you are barely conscious (just before sleep or right after waking, for example) your brain waves are in the theta state. This is the middle ground between the conscious and the subconscious world, and also the goal of meditation.
When you get into the theta state, but can remain conscious, you have the ability to access and influence your subconscious mind. This is extremely important because the subconscious mind is much more powerful than the conscious mind.
So, getting yourself into the theta brain wave state on a regular basis in order to influence your subconscious mind is the secret to manifesting change and positive results in your life.
In fact, before we were able to measure brainwave patterns in the human brain with machines, people were using entrainment to induce a theta state. The chanting of monks, the drumbeats of Native Americans, and the hypnotic state created by a campfire are all examples of brain wave entrainment.

Outraged by The Law of Attraction?
May 12th, 2008Link: http://www.getthedream.com/law-of-attraction.php
All the recent discussions about The Secret and The Moses Code have created quite a stir.
The two contain teachings based on The Law of Attraction – which is essentially holding positive thoughts in your mind until they become part of who you are. These positive thoughts then cause positive results to manifest into your life. Who would have thought that such a simple idea could be so divisive?
The controversy usually stems from people who want to dismiss The Law of Attraction as something of a hoax. People ask: “Where is the proof?” or “If it works, why is there pain or poverty in the world?” or “Why am I not rich? I want to attract money.” These same arguments have been made against God or organized religions by non-believers for ages. Click here to learn more about The Law of Attraction.
If you are one of those people who is outraged or upset by publicity surrounding The Law of Attraction, I challenge you to do the following:
1. Read the book by Protestant minister Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, The Power of Positive Thinking, first published in 1952 and sold 7 million copies.
2. Go back and re-read The Secret or watch the DVD.
Here is the conclusion that you should arrive at after completing this assignment:
Right thinking leads to right actions which lead to right results.
The Power of Positive Thinking teaches us that if we consciously focus on positive thoughts and outcomes, these results are more likely to show up. Wow, what a novel idea! Does that sound a lot like The Law of Attraction? Did the critics cry, “Outrageous… shame on you Dr. Peale…blasphemy…”? No, they bought 7 million copies of his book.
What we have learned since Dr. Peale’s book was first published over 50 years ago are some shortcuts to impressing our desires on the subconscious mind. One of the incredible shortcuts we have discovered is called brain wave synchronization or brain wave entrainment.
Brain wave entrainment allows us to present a frequency to the brain in the form of sound or light and causes brain waves to match that frequency. Now brainwave entrainment is not new, but it has become more effective since the advent of electroencephalography (EEG) machines that allow us to see brain wave frequencies changing during entrainment.
What makes brain wave entrainment so spectacular is that it can be used by nearly everyone. It requires little or no training, and it is very inexpensive to obtain. There are many CD’s or instant downloads available online to manipulate your brain wave state for improvement in learning, sleep, relaxation, meditation, heightened awareness, and manifestation. These manifestation or Law of Attraction programs typically involve taking your brain into a meditative state and then exposing it to subliminal, audible messages or affirmations.
Get The Dream, LLC has created a breakthrough technology that takes brain wave entrainment a dramatic step further. They created an audio/video program that combines an electronic vision board with an integrated brain wave entrainment audio track.
Get The Dream product soundtracks take the listener into a theta (meditative) wave state which makes the subconscious mind more receptive to receiving instructions. At just the right time, the visual portion of the program exposes the subconscious mind to desirable images and affirmations. The viewer/listener is then returned to an alert state of mind to carry on with their daily activities. The entire program lasts for approximately 20 minutes.

Change Your Subconscious Mind, Change Your Results!
May 3rd, 2008Link: http://www.getthedream.com/more_info.php
It is truly amazing how hard some people are working in today’s world. In many cases, they are unknowingly working against what they truly desire because of misguided subconscious beliefs. By simply understanding The Law of Attraction and how the subconscious mind works, these people can begin moving closer to their goals and desires.
Have you ever felt that no matter how hard you tried to achieve something that there was some type of obstacle between you and the end game? Sometimes it seems that the harder we try, the further we get from our goal. This is the subconscious mind at work.
If your subconscious mind believes, for instance, that the world is a scarce place and that there is not enough for everyone, your results will be scarcity-based. Now before you get defensive and say, “but I really believe that the world is abundant!” realize that what you are really saying is “my CONSCIOUS mind believes the world is abundant.”
It is very difficult for us to know what the subconscious mind believes. We can only guess what our subconscious believes based upon the results that we are currently getting in our lives. So no matter how hard we work, we will continue to get the same results.
What is important is not how hard we work, but what we work on. If we can change what the subconscious believes then we will begin to get different results!
This begs the question, “how do I change the underlying beliefs of my subconscious mind to assist me in getting what I desire?” There are several ways that one can communicate directly to the subconscious. Some of the most popular are hypnosis, meditation, psych-K, brainwave entrainment, affirmations, vision boards, visualization, and subliminal messages.
We have tried all of the methods above, and we believe that our Get the Dream videos are one of the most effective tools for communicating with the subconscious.
Remember, the subconscious mind is very powerful. It is the mind that remembers to breathe and make our heart beat. In order to get the results you desire, put the subconscious to work for you. Do not continue to let it work against you. This is truly working smarter, not harder! Get the Dream.
